To the dismay of our guild and many other participants, the Cornhusker State Games have canceled their HEMA events for 2023. No details were given in the Facebook announcement ( here ).
In the mean time; Omaha Kunst Des Fechtens(KDF) has picked up the mantle and has posted about 2 events covering some of the events from the Cornhusker State Games.
The first event is on June 17th, and covers Rapier and Smallsword. Details can be found on their Facebook event page.
The second event is on June 24th, 2023 and covers Longsword and Messer. Details can be found on their Facebook event page.
We hope that the Cornhusker State Games will return the HEMA events next year, as we will miss our time in the gym, and the friends we made there.
We also hope for the best for Omaha KDF’s events. As we can always use more opportunities to show/practice/enjoy our use of swords.
